The tournament was a match play format with the winner continuing to bowl. Entry fee was $10.00 and 64 men and 32 women bowled for 14 days from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM every day of the PNE. Each win was worth $10.00 until the semi-finals and final match. The winner received $500.00 and second won $250.00. A total of $2,460 in prize money. Some years there was a jackpot of $1,000 to be won the final day.
Preliminay matches were 3 games. The semi-finals was 4 games and the finals consisted of 10 games for both Men and Ladies.
Many special events were held for other bowling groups. Over 10,000 spectators came to watch the intense action every day of the tournament.
The cost to erect the bowling lanes and seating fascilities was almost $50,000. click program to enlarge
